Holy Crap

My brain is sooooo goddamn fried. As of today, actuaries, professional researchers, CPAs and other number-crunchy types have my utmost respect. I could never do this tedious data entry bullshit for a living. Imagine entering 177 separate bits of data from at least 200 patient files into a spreadsheet that if you get one cell off, it screws up the whole thing. That's right, I have to get 35,400 pieces of information into the spreadsheet with no mistakes or the statistical computations will be off. I can't even make chili the same way twice in a row, so how the hell am I supposed to slog through this? All I ever wanted to do was the testing...fuuuuuuck.

Yikes! I got a headache just reading about it. I feel for ya, girlfriend.

I would suggest copious amounts of alcohol as a remedy.

You know, I tried that the other night with an inexpensive, yet highly palatable wine called Sin Zin. Unfortunately, despite my hearty recommendation of this particular product, falling asleep did not expedite my process. Copious amounts might also encourage me to make irreversable errors. Irreversible errors are not good things. Therefore, I have to load up on Earl Grey to finish the remaining 35 tonight so I can go back to the hospital and trade these in for another huge ass fucking pile tomorrow.

Mmmm...I love Earl Grey. I'll bet it doesn't do anything to relieve the pain-in-the-assedness of this, though.

How correct you are...but the huge ass pile for today turned out to be only 35. I needed at least 85 more. What to do, what to do, what to do? When in doubt, start hacking variables out of the study, right? Too much blood, sweat & tears (not to mention money) in it to turn back now. The hard part now is figuring out what the hell Plan B is.

By the by, I was up until 3am today finishing up the last pile, had a hard time getting to sleep and was roused by the coffee grinder around 5am. As such, I've been worthless all day. Tried to take a nap this afternoon and just wound up disoriented and jangled when the alarm went off and haven't been able to shake it. To top it all off, whenever I get to this level of exhaustion, I experience auditory hallucinations - mostly singing voices in a strange language, but sometimes muffled conversations that I can't quite make out. That's how I know it's time to slow down & take it a little bit easier. Maybe I'll come on over to Phase II of Bible Land. I do love me some fish.
